Travellers visiting Norseman and the Shire of Dundas are well catered for in respect to general and public facilities that will enhance their tourism experience.
All the travel stops along the Eyre Highway from Norseman to Eucla have public conveniences and ablution facilities, open every day and provide fuel, food and accommodation.
In Norseman there are two parks with public conveniences which also have grassed picnic areas with free BBQ’s, another has the grassed picnic area and free BBQ’s with children’s play equipment (no conveniences) and there are 24 hour public conveniences at the rear of the Shire premises on Prinsep Street.
Laundromat facilities are available at the BP Service Station along with WiFi access, these are available 24 hours. Full internet services are available at the Community Resource Centre located on the Cnr of Roberts & Ramsay Streets, open 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
For fully self contained Recreational Vehicles, there is an overnight parking area at the western end of Ramsay Street. Check with the visitor centre for directions.
The precinct provides plentiful parking with a shady grassed seating area, free BBQ’s, public toilets, 5 minute hot showers for a $2 token which you purchase from the visitor centre, fresh water (travellers are asked to consider making a donation) and a free dump point which requires you to collect a key from the visitor centre to unlock it and then lock it again and return the key.
The park has a drive in drive out option for travellers to use when accessing the water or dump point. It also accommodates day parking from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm Saturday and 9.30am to 4pm Sunday.
Norseman Visitor Centre
The Norseman Visitor Centre is located in Welcome Park on Roberts Street just a short stroll/drive from the town centre.
As the ‘Gateway’ visitor centre for Western Australia and the Nullarbor, the centre carries a wide range of information to cover all regions and is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to Noon and 1pm to 4pm, Sunday 9.30am to 4pm. The visitor centre acts as an agent for Transwa, making bookings and selling tickets for their coach and rail services. It also offers photo coping and fax services and has a great choice of gifts and souvenirs for sale.
Make your first stop the visitor centre where the friendly staff will be pleased to offer guidance and advice to ensure you enjoy your visit to Norseman and Western Australia.
In the summer months there is a public, Olympic sized swimming pool located on Roberts Street (just up from the shopping centre), to provide welcome relief on those very hot days. It opens from Noon to 6pm Tuesday to Sunday.
